【摘要】:CEDIdevicescanbeusedtoproducedeionizedwaterfromfeedsofpretreatedwater.ThistestmethodpermitsthemeasurementofkeyperformancecapabilitiesofCEDIdevicesusingastandardsetofconditions.Thedataobtainedcanbeanalyzedtoprovideinformationonwhetherchangesmayhaveoccurredinoperatingcharacteristicsofthedeviceindependentlyofanyvariabilityinfeedwatercharacteristicsoroperatingconditions.Underspecificcircumstances,themethodmayalsoprovidesufficientinformationforplantdesign.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheoperatingcharacteristicsofcontinuouselectrodeionization(CEDI)devices,indicativeofdeionizationperformancewhenadeviceisappliedtoproductionofhighlydeionizedwaterfromtheproductwaterofareverseosmosissystem.Thistestmethodisaprocedureapplicabletofeedwaterscontainingcarbonicacidand/ordissolvedsilicaandothersolutes,withaconductivityrangeofapproximately2to100microsiemens-cm-1.1.2ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofoperatingcharacteristicsunderstandardtestconditionsofCEDIdeviceswheretheelectricallyactivetransfermediathereinispredominantlyregenerated.1.3Thetestmethodisnotnecessarilyindicativeof:1.3.1Longtermperformanceonfeedwaterscontainingfoulantsand/orsparinglysolublesolutes;1.3.2Performanceonfeedsofbrackishwater,seawater,orotherhighsalinityfeeds;1.3.3Performanceonsyntheticindustrialfeedsolutions,pharmaceuticals,orprocesssolutionsoffoodsandbeverages;or,1.3.4Performanceonfeedwaterslessthan2x03BC;S/cm,particularlyperformancerelatingtoorganicsolutes,colloidalorparticulatematter,orbiologicalormicrobialmatter.1.4Thetestmethod,subjecttothelimitationsdescribed,canbeappliedaseitheranaidtopredictexpecteddeionizationperformanceforagivenfeedwaterquality,orasamethodtodeterminewhetherperformanceofagivendevicehaschangedoversomeperiodoftime.Itisultimately,however,theuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthetestmethodfortheirspecificapplications.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
