【摘要】:Thistestmethodisascreeningprocedurefordeterminingthepresenceoffuelscontainingaromaticcompoundsinsoils.Ifthecontaminantfuelisavailableforcalibration,theapproximateconcentrationofthefuelinthesoilcanbecalculated.Ifthefueltypeisknown,butthecontaminantfuelisnotavailableforcalibration,anestimateofthecontaminantfuelconcentrationcanbecalculatedusingaverageresponsefactors.Ifthenatureofthecontaminantfuelisunknown,acontaminantconcentrationcannotbecalculated,andthetestmethodcanonlybeusedonlytoindicatethepresenceorabsenceoffuelcontamination.Fuelscontainingaromaticcompounds,suchasdieselfuelandgasoline,aswellasotheraromatic-containinghydrocarbonmaterials,suchascrudeoil,coaloil,andmotoroil,canbedeterminedbythistestmethod.Thequantitationlimitfordieselfuelisabout75mg/kg.Approximatequantitationlimitsforotheraromatic-containinghydrocarbonmaterialsthatcanbedeterminedbythisscreeningtestmethodaregiveninTable1.Quantitationlimitsforhighlyaliphaticmaterials,suchasaviationgasolineandsyntheticmotoroil,aremuchhigherthanthoseformorearomaticmaterials,suchascoaloilanddieselfuel.Note18212;ThequantitationlimitslistedinTable1areapproximatevaluesbecauseinthistestmethod,thequantitationlimitcanbeinfluencedbytheparticularfueltypeandsoilbackgroundlevels.ForinformationonhowthevaluesgiveninTable1weredetermined,seeAppendixX1.Datageneratedduringthedevelopmentofthisscreeningtestmethodandotherinformationpertainingtothistestmethodcanbefoundintheresearchreports.(1,2)Whenapplyingthistestmethodtositescontaminatedbydieselfuel,careshouldbetakeninselectingtheappropriateresponsefactorfromthelistgiveninTable2,withconsiderationgiventowhetherornotthefuelcontaminationisfreshorhasundergoneweathering/orbiodegradationprocesses.SeeAppendixX2.Afactortoconsiderinusingthistestmethodiswhetherthecontaminationisamixtureofoneormorefueltypes.Ifthisisthecase,andasite-specificresponsefactor(seeAppendixX2,SectionX2.3)cannotbedetermined,theresponsefactorsfortheindividualfueltypesinthemixtureshouldbeusedtoestimatecontaminantconcentrations.Certainmaterials,suchasasphaltsandasphaltresidualsandoilsandpitchfromtreesandothervegetation,whichrespondasfuelwhentestedbythemethodgivinghighblankabsorbancevalues,mayinterferewithuseofthistestmethod.See8.1.2.1andNote3forinformationondeterminingifthetestmethodcanbeappliedtoaspecificsoilcontainingoneormoreofthesetypesofmaterials.Extractablematerial,whichscattersorabsorbslightat254nm,isapotentialinterferenceforthisscreeningtestmethod.TABLE1ApproximateQuantitationLimitsforVariousFuelTypesinSoilsBasedon0.036AUMaterialLimitofQuantitation(LOQ),mg/kg
